Supplies

• Card Stock (white or cream colored)
• Glitter Pens or Markers in various colors
• Pipe Cleaner (pink)
• Foam Pieces (pink and purple)
• Stickers (in our example, we used pink and purple stars)
• Magnetic Tape with Adhesive Backing (Flexible Magnets, 1/2" wide) or recycle flat refrigerator magnets by cutting to the correct size

Instructions

1. Cut card stock to 2 x 3 inches in size.
    
2. Punch one hole centered on each of the short ends of the card stock (about 1/4" from the end).
    
3. Write World's Greatest Mother on the card stock with glitter pens.
    
4. Add stickers to the four corners of the card stock.
    
5. Cut pipe cleaner between 8.5 and 9 inches long.
    
6. Thread the pipe cleaner in through the front of one hole of the card stock. The pipe cleaner should run along the back of the card stock and out through the other hole. Position the pipe cleaner so that even amounts of the pipe cleaner stick out each end of the card stock.
    
7. Cut 4 foam pieces in each color into small shapes (circles and squares) about 3/4" in size, or use pre-cut shapes found at craft stores.
    
8. Thread the shapes onto the pipe cleaner (on both sides of the card stock) by poking the center of each shape with the pipe cleaner. Use alternating colors and shapes (Our sample uses this order: purple circle, pink circle, purple square, pink square).
    
9. Fold down the ends of the pipe cleaner to keep the foam pieces from falling off the ends.
    
10. Lay the card stock onto a flat surface, push the foam pieces down so they lay flat with the inner edges pointing toward the card stock.
     
11. Cut the magnet pieces to about 1 1/4 inches long. Peel off the adhesive and stick to the back of the card stock, with each piece covering the pipe cleaner, holding the pipe cleaner in place.
