This box is a
simple project for anyone to do. It helps young children learn patience as
they work the buttons around the edges, filling in all the spaces on the
box.
print version
Supplies
- Paper Mache Box (any shape or size)
- Collection of buttons (various sizes and
colors, flat-backed buttons work best)
- Craft Glue
Instructions
- Smooth glue onto the lid of the box. Arrange various sized buttons to
cover the surface of the lid, pushing the buttons into the glue. Maximize
the coverage of the buttons by placing small buttons in between the larger
ones. Work in small sections to avoid the glue from drying out, add
more glue as needed.
- With the lid on the box, smooth glue over the sides and arrange
buttons as was done on the lid.
- You may need to hold the buttons in place for a few seconds until they start
to set in the glue.
- Let dry on a flat surface before using the box.
- If you don't have any buttons, here are some other ideas for the paper
mache box:
- Puzzle pieces
- Stickers
- A collage of pictures cut out from magazines
