Are you a school teacher, homeschool parent, or simply concerned about the creative  education of your child? Then you've come to the right place. We've got some great tips on locating free craft project ideas on the internet, especially for home school or classroom craft ideas.

As a former early childhood educator, I know how hard it is to find crafts that will engage all your students, boys and girls alike, while also being inexpensive and easy to setup. The web is full of ideas so how do you search effectively to find exactly what you need? Here are some tips on searching for that perfect craft idea.

  1. Try looking at sites that specialize in selling craft supplies or kits for kids. They usually have a selection of project ideas and kits that you can browse for inspiration. Good sites will list supplies used in each project. Of course, these sites hope you'll purchase the supplies or kits from their site or store, but you don't need to. You can use the same idea with craft supplies you already have on hand. Try these: Michaels.com, Oriental Trading Company, and Joann.com.

  2. Search the web for holiday specific crafts. Many companies and content-driven websites add special holiday pages each holiday season. These pages are a great way to get new kids craft ideas each year. Try searching for the holiday name and "kids crafts". Once you find the best sites, bookmark these and then return each holiday season to check out the latest additions.

  3. Use search engines effectively. Search engines can do more than you think. So don't just type in some words such as kids crafts and hope for the best. You can search for the exact phrase you type in, results that contain ALL the search terms you type in, and other advanced options. Most search engines include tips for advanced search pages that let you use these advanced techniques. See these links for their advanced pages: Google and Yahoo and then try searching for more specific information that fits your exact craft project need (for example: "Melted-crayon craft"

And here are some links to websites and project ideas for kids crafts. I hope you find what you are looking for.
